A Thorough Examination is similar to an MOT on a car, it is a detailed examination of all aspects of a forktruck including steering, brakes, hydraulics and lifting components are inspected in accordance with LOLER 98. Thorough Examination is a legal requirement and this regulation applies to forklifts more than a year old; it is required every 12 months as a minimum.
