What’s Good About Hyster Forklifts?

Ask any forklift provider about good quality new forklifts or used forklifts, we’re in no doubt the name Hyster will be mentioned. But, what is it about Hyster that makes them one of the best and most trusted forklift brands in the world?

In this short article, we’ll give you a brief introduction to Hyster and its history, as well as giving you an overview of a selection of Hyster forklifts available, and the specs that help them stand out in a highly competitive market.

Who are Hyster?

Hyster is a world-leading forklift truck designer and manufacturer. With its HQ in Oregon, USA, Hyster has manufacturing plants across the globe, including the Craigavon site in Northern Ireland, which is now the largest forklift manufacturing plant in the UK.

Boasting a range of more than 130 different forklift models with various power options, an extensive range of servicing and maintenance options, plus a commitment to lowering the cost of forklift ownership, it’s not surprising Hyster is one of the preferred choices of forklift for many forklift buyers and leasers.

A bit of Hyster history

Hyster was formed in the late 1920s as Williamette Iron and Steel, later to become Williamette – Hyster, then simply Hyster, with the Hyster part allegedly coming from an old logging phrase ‘Hoist ‘er’. Originally a manufacturer of lifting equipment for the logging industry in the Pacific Northwest, Hyster soon joined various other manufacturers of the day to develop mobile lifting equipment, and soon become known for its innovative designs and the tough, ‘rugged quality’ forklift trucks it produced.

What does Hyster sells
